MyFlorida’s Department of Management Services is hiring a Government Operations Consultant II to serve as the administrative backbone for biologists and technicians working to conserve Florida’s wildlife and habitats. You will provide crucial organizational support for field operations at designated wildlife management areas.
What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive organizational support for teams protecting Florida's landscapes.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
- Handle telephone calls courteously and effectively, providing excellent customer service.
- Produce final documents and products within established timelines.
- Organize files and other records.
- Type letters and standard forms using correct format, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma and eight years of professional administrative experience.
- An associate’s degree substitutes for two years; a bachelor’s degree substitutes for four years.
- Familiarity with computers using Microsoft Office, telecommunications, and general office equipment.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to handle calls courteously.
- Must be well-organized, punctual, and display a cooperative, professional attitude.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of office procedures, practices, and effective communication techniques.
- Skilled in typing and data entry.
- Ability to organize files and records and produce work within deadlines.
- Must possess and maintain a valid minimum Class E Florida driver’s license.
- Willingness for occasional overnight travel.
- Must live within 25 miles of the J.W. Corbett Field Office.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.

- Knowledge of MyFloridaMarketPlace, the Purchasing Card system, and State of Florida purchasing processes.

Team & Environment
You will be part of the Wildlife and Habitat Management Section within the Division of Habitat and Species Conservation, reporting to Danielle Devine.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $23.47 per hour (40 hours per week; 1,920 hours per year).
- An onsite trailer pad housing option may be available.

This is an onsite position located at 11835 Seminole Pratt Whitney Rd., West Palm Beach, FL 33412.
