Sherpa 6 is seeking a highly motivated GoLang Developer to join our team and build mission-critical systems for the Department of Defense and other commercial customers. In this role, you will develop high-quality, scalable back-end code, including Go REST APIs, within a microservices architecture.

What You'll Do

Develop high-quality, scalable back-end code, including Go REST API development, scripting, SQL database development/maintenance, unit tests, and design documentation.
Act as a subject matter expert for Go development.
Code and test software based upon software specifications and designs.
Analyze and study complex system requirements.
Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain software development.
Use sound software engineering principles to ensure developed code is maintainable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault tolerant.
Provide software process management and control throughout the coding portion of the software development process.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
3+ years of Go development experience.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience in design, development, and documentation of REST API endpoints.
Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Experience with software development tools such as Git, JIRA, or Trello.
Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills.
Active Secret clearance required (Interim ok).
US Citizenship required.

Nice to Have

Experience working in STIG-compliant environments/instances.
Experience working with Client/Server Certificates, Certificate Authorities, and Client Certificate Authentication.
Experience with scripting in Linux and Windows environments.
Experience with encryption and cryptography algorithms.
Demonstrated aptitude with Go concurrency patterns.
Experience working with tactical radio APIs.

The proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations are based on geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
