Responsibilities
- Design and update software to automate real-time processing, submission, and archiving of geomagnetic data.
- Support development and deployment of a new web service for real-time geomagnetic data workflows.
- Enhance or build applications to streamline geomagnetism operations such as data and system monitoring, and reporting.
- Keep current documentation for all scripts, code, and configuration changes.
- Submit code updates for review by geomagnetism or HazDev personnel during development phases.
- Formulate test strategies to assess performance and reliability of new or updated software.
- Record test outcomes, noting defects requiring correction and improvements over prior systems.
- Produce detailed guides explaining the development or modification of software components.
- Deliver verbal or written briefings and documentation as directed by government stakeholders.
- Build data management tools and applications for scientific analysis and real-time data handling.
- Develop and maintain interfaces for specialized real-time field data collection systems.
- Assist in monitoring and sustaining software systems to maximize operational availability.
