Potomac Haven Inc is hiring a Full Stack Developer to lead the complete development lifecycle for a new stand-alone campaign website supporting the Missouri Department of Mental Health’s Problem Gambling Prevention initiative. You will be responsible for delivering a website that meets high standards of functionality, user experience, performance, security, and accessibility.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement a modern, user-friendly website on a contemporary CMS like WordPress or Drupal deployed on a secure cloud platform.
- Create a responsive UI aligned with campaign branding and build all required features from content pages to interactive elements.
- Define the site’s technical architecture and set up robust hosting in a scalable AWS cloud environment.
- Configure web servers (Nginx) and caching systems (e.g., Varnish) to optimize performance and reliability.
- Ensure full ADA/WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across the website’s design and code.
- Set up comprehensive analytics using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager, including custom events and conversion goals.
- Develop a custom performance dashboard (e.g., using Google Looker Studio) to visualize key metrics.
- Work remotely as part of a cross-functional team, participating in weekly virtual meetings with DMH and partner agencies.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional full-stack web development experience, including building and launching dynamic websites end-to-end.
- Strong coding skills in front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) with experience in frameworks/libraries like Bootstrap and jQuery.
- Expertise in back-end development using PHP and hands-on experience with content management systems, especially WordPress and/or Drupal 10.
- Competence in configuring and managing cloud hosting (AWS or similar), including setting up Linux/Nginx web servers, working with MySQL, and implementing caching/CDN solutions.
- Knowledge of web security best practices (SSL, secure authentication, Imperva WAF or similar security tools).
- Proven ability to implement and configure web analytics, including Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
- Experience building interactive data dashboards or reports using tools like Google Looker Studio or Tableau.
- Deep understanding of ADA/WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines and proven success in implementing them on web projects.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Drupal multisite environments or enterprise hosting (e.g., Drupal on Acquia/AWS).
- Familiarity with SEO and quality assurance tools (e.g., Siteimprove).
- Relevant professional certifications: Google Analytics (GA4) certification, Accessibility certifications (IAAP), cloud platform certifications (AWS), or CMS certifications (Acquia Certified Drupal Developer).
