STREET is hiring a Founding Backend Engineer to join our early-stage startup. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction, building and scaling our mobile application, and have a direct impact on the company's future. This is an equity-based role with a salary and bonus upon successful fundraising.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure RESTful APIs using Node.js (Express/Nest.js).
Integrate and optimize data storage solutions using SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and MongoDB.
Implement AWS Lambda functions for serverless computing tasks.
Manage CI/CD pipelines and deployments using AWS CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, or similar tools.
Write reusable, testable, and efficient code, following best practices.
Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Perform code reviews, troubleshoot, debug applications, and improve performance.
Ensure application security and data protection measures are in place.
Contribute to system architecture and technical documentation.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 2+ years of professional experience working with Node.js in a production environment.
Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture.
Proficiency in SQL databases (like MySQL or PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (especially MongoDB).
Experience in AWS services, including Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and CodeDeploy.
Hands-on experience with version control tools such as Git.
Good knowledge of unit testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or similar.
Understanding of authentication/authorization protocols (JWT, OAuth2).

Nice to Have

Familiarity with GraphQL.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Exposure to monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Sentry, or Datadog.
Experience with logging and performance tuning.
Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker) and serverless framework.
