Matrix Camps and Logistics is hiring a Flight Operations Personnel to ensure safe and efficient helicopter operations supporting client projects in remote environments. This is a rotational position (2 weeks on/2 weeks off or 3 weeks on/3 weeks off) with fully remote camp accommodations.
What You'll Do
- Schedule and oversee movements of all field crews and facilitate transportation of resupply, freight, and equipment.
- Provide consistent flight overwatch and maintain regular communications with aircrew and field crews.
- Act as central coordinator for general day-to-day helicopter operations and emergency support.
- Coordinate and schedule helicopter operations for drilling, environmental, exploration, and tour programs.
- Conduct aircraft radio operations as a centralized communication point between ground and aircrews.
- Ensure all communication devices are charged and operational.
- Provide specialty aviation activity updates to onsite aircrew (surface, air, blasting warnings, drone advisories).
- Host daily toolbox meetings to facilitate communication and planning between aircrew and ground personnel.
- Maintain detailed data records of flight, personnel, and cargo movements.
- Work in co-operation with all flight crews throughout the operation.
- Assign aircraft according to client needs to maximize efficient use.
- Coordinate logistics for parts, supplies, materials, and personnel transported via aircraft.
- Ensure prompt receipt and delivery of equipment to and from contracted Operators.
- Prepare and maintain various reports on flight activity using manual and computerized systems.
- Complete administrative support functions including creating and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Audit daily flight records per aircraft to ensure accuracy.
- Perform daily aircraft fuel tracking and reconciliation by fuel location.
- Track all personnel in remote areas and schedule check-in times.
- Initiate and coordinate search efforts for an overdue aircraft or other emergency operations.
- Follow aircraft tracking protocols per Operator procedures.
- Implement Emergency Protocols if required and support site Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
- Initiate medical evacuations as instructed by onsite Incident Command and Medical Care Professionals.
- Facilitate and execute mock Medevac and other aviation training requirements.
- Advise pertinent personnel of operational concerns impacting safety or efficiency.
- Exercise joint responsibility with contracted Operators for operational control in all matters affecting flight safety.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in flight operations or aviation management.
- Knowledge of passenger and load capacities for a variety of helicopter types.
Team & Environment
This position reports to the Matrix Aviation Management Helicopters Operations Manager.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position with remote camp accommodations.
