Solidigm is hiring a Firmware Development Engineer to join a fast-paced team creating new firmware for Solidigm Solid State Drives. You will leverage your embedded systems expertise to develop architectures and features that meet product constraints and deliver new platform value.
What You'll Do
- Develop, review, document, and maintain product source code in C/C++
- Analyze and develop firmware per internal and external customer specifications
- Perform unit and system level testing, including failure analysis and debug during development and validation
- Develop low-level firmware, system architectures, and operating systems in partnership with hardware and ASIC design teams
- Work across multiple firmware disciplines to grow your expertise across the entire SSD architecture
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to translate product requirements into development and validation plans
- Participate in and role model an Agile/Kanban development culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Coordinate priorities and activities with other engineering stakeholders to meet committed milestones
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 7+ years of software or firmware development experience in an embedded systems environment using C/C++
- 7+ years of embedded firmware development running in a real-time operating system (RTOS), with hardware and software interactions
- 7+ years of experience with firmware development environments including compilers, debuggers, emulators, and toolchains
Nice to Have
- Experience in the storage industry (SSDs or enterprise storage)
- Experience with embedded development techniques using hardware and firmware tools
- Experience with structured software development practices, analytical problem solving, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Experience with enterprise storage interface protocols such as SATA, SAS, PCIe, and NVMe
- Experience with SSD or enterprise storage device security protocols and techniques (e.g., Opal, ESSC, AES)
- Experience with software/firmware development processes including workflow and continuous integration validation
- Experience with DevOps process strategies, tools, and execution from code check-in through CI/CD
- Experience with project planning, estimation, and risk management
- Experience with customer requirements definition, clarification, and technical assessment
- Experience with development of unit tests for code coverage and quality validation

- Salary range: $105,440 - $164,800
