Clara is hiring a FinOps & Cloud Cost Engineer - Remote

About the Role

What You'll Do

Develop and manage a comprehensive strategy for reducing AWS costs while maintaining performance and scalability. Identify savings opportunities across EC2, ECS, and Aurora deployments through continuous analysis and tuning.

Implement consistent tagging frameworks to track spending by domain, team, region, and product line. Use this data to improve accountability and drive cost-aware development practices.

Optimize infrastructure components including Kafka clusters, OpenSearch storage, and network usage to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Enforce cost controls through automated policies for non-production environments.

Set up proactive monitoring with anomaly detection and budget alerts to catch unexpected spend early. Create clear, actionable dashboards using AWS Cost Explorer, Athena, and QuickSight to give teams real-time insight into their usage.

Collaborate with engineering units to guide architectural decisions that balance performance, reliability, and cost. Integrate financial governance into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Infrastructure as Code to ensure long-term compliance and visibility.
