Responsibilities
- Carry out thorough examinations of potentially suspicious financial activity using internal and external data sources.
- Examine complex transaction patterns and customer behaviors to detect signs of money laundering, fraud, or other illicit activities.
- Assess alerts from transaction monitoring systems and detection tools to determine validity and risk level.
- Collect and evaluate relevant documentation such as KYC records, transaction histories, and supporting evidence.
- Interpret financial and behavioral data to uncover trends and risks related to financial crime.
- Produce comprehensive investigation reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommended actions.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex financial crime cases from other operational teams.
- Guide and train team members in financial crime investigation methodologies and best practices.
- Work with product and engineering teams to refine fraud detection systems and improve monitoring rules.
- Keep current with evolving financial crime tactics, emerging threats, and regulatory updates.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal departments such as compliance, legal, and customer support.
- Coordinate with external entities including banks and law enforcement when required.
- Contribute to special projects focused on enhancing financial crime prevention and detection.
- Ensure all investigation records are accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
- Provide feedback on process improvements and participate in backlog prioritization activities.
- Complete all required, periodic, or on-demand training modules promptly and thoroughly.
- Engage with customers through approved channels using clear, professional, and empathetic communication to gather information, minimizing unnecessary contact and delays.
- Consistently meet individual and team performance metrics including KPIs, SLAs, and quality standards, with a focus on accountability, speed, and accuracy.
- Perform additional duties as directed by team leadership, including participation in meetings, training sessions, and company events to support team and organizational goals.
