Responsibilities
- Conduct independent reviews of financial crime and fraud risk models
- Evaluate model design, assumptions, and statistical methodologies
- Assess model performance using back-testing and benchmarking techniques
- Identify limitations and potential improvements in model logic
- Ensure models comply with internal policies and regulatory expectations
- Produce detailed validation reports with clear findings and recommendations
- Collaborate with model developers and risk teams to resolve issues
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving fraud patterns and AML risks
- Apply critical thinking to challenge model outputs and logic
- Support validation of machine learning and rule-based detection systems
- Verify data quality and appropriateness for model inputs
- Assess model governance processes and documentation standards
- Contribute to the development of validation frameworks and standards
- Escalate critical model concerns to senior risk stakeholders
- Support audit and regulatory examination processes related to model risk
