Copeland is hiring a Field Service Technician (HVACR) to provide expert support for Retail Solutions products and services. You will be responsible for the commissioning of new installations, retrofits, and maintaining existing sites, ensuring system performance and customer satisfaction. This is a remote position requiring up to 70% travel, with a strong preference for candidates based in Alberta, British Columbia, or Eastern Ontario.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems.
- Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems.
- Keep customers informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, or replacement.
- Manage assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.
- Assist in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades.
- Provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
- Keep current on safety bulletins and safety field change notices.
- Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines.
What We're Looking For
- Associate’s (AA) degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (or equivalent working experience).
- 2+ years of experience with HVAC controls or building automation systems field including commissioning and start up.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
- Authorized to work in Canada and travel to the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice to Have
- 2-year degree in electronics or mechanical systems.
- Two years’ experience in installing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
- 313A Certification.
- Bilingual (English/French).
