Nordson Corporation is looking for a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex equipment and systems. This role demands attention to detail, combining hands-on field service activities with remote technical support. You'll leverage ticketing and ERP systems to ensure operational efficiency and serve as a key liaison with our customers.
What You'll Do
- Perform onsite installations, routine maintenance, and repairs of the product line.
- Conduct onsite training for customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Communicate and resolve issues to achieve successful customer sign-off.
- Provide remote technical support to troubleshoot and diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Apply electronic fundamentals and logic to daily tasks.
- Read schematics and blueprints accurately for job requirements.
- Use hand/power tools and test equipment like multimeters and radiation meters during service visits.
- Navigate and utilize the ticketing system Cloud For Customers (C4C) for scheduling and tracking support.
- Navigate and utilize the ERP system (SAP).
- Serve as the company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters.
- Offer spare part support by identifying customer requirements to generate repair and parts quotes.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical or vocational education in electronics, mechanics, or a related field.
- Field service experience in a similar role.
- Fundamental understanding of electronic principles, logic, schematics, and blueprint reading.
- Experience successfully servicing electronic equipment.
- Basic proficiency using C4C and SAP.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Prior experience in a technical support or electronics repair role.
- The ability to travel, including possible international travel as required.
- Effective communication skills for providing customer support.
- The ability to quickly adapt to various technical and scheduling challenges.
- An attitude eager to learn in this field.
Nice to Have
- Field service experience in the semiconductor or PCB industries, or with electro-mechanical equipment such as X-Ray and Bond Test systems.
