Syntegon Technology GmbH is hiring a Field Service Electrical Software Engineer to serve as a technical ambassador to our global customers. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and optimizing advanced packaging machines and automation systems, leading customer handovers from start to finish.
What You'll Do
- Lead on-site installation and commissioning of automation systems, integrating mechanical, electrical, and software elements.
- Configure and validate PLC logic, HMI applications, servo/motion systems, and industrial networks like Profinet, EtherCAT, and Ethernet/IP.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) in Bristol and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) at customer locations to verify functional and performance requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex issues with PLCs, motion control, communication networks, and electrical integration, providing remote diagnostics when needed.
- Install software and firmware updates, carry out modernization projects, and recommend improvements for system reliability and performance.
- Produce detailed service reports and handover documentation, and train customer operators and maintenance staff.
- Liaise with project managers, service coordinators, and global engineering teams to feed back critical field insights.
