About the Role

GE HealthCare is looking for a Field Engineer Apprentice to join our South Central Wisconsin service team. In this role, you will learn to service diagnostic imaging equipment by observing and performing key processes within hospital radiology environments, ensuring proper equipment functionality and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

  • Work within hospital radiology environments to evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair imaging equipment.
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance on designated equipment.
  • Perform safety and environmental inspections, ensuring compliance with Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution, follow-up, and satisfaction.
  • Complete all service and repair documentation following hospital protocol and GEHC policies.
  • Learn and ensure proper care, maintenance, and calibration of tools and test equipment.
  • Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures for the safe use of medical equipment.
  • Mentor with and assist more experienced technicians on progressive repairs and resolutions.
  • Complete all planned Quality and Compliance training within defined deadlines.
  • Identify and report any customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization.
  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations.

What We're Looking For

  • An AS, BS, or MS degree, military education, certificate program, current student with less than 12 months from completion, OR a High School Diploma/GED with 6 months experience servicing electronic, IT, or mechanical equipment.
  • Experience or coursework successfully interpreting schematic diagrams and performing troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience interpreting schematic diagrams and performing effective repair and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment.
  • Analytical and communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good customer relations.
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment, resulting in knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and electro-mechanical devices.
  • Change agent and process-oriented mindset.
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred.

Team & Environment

You will work as a member of the local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within your assigned area.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $48,000 - $72,000
