NXP is looking for a Field Application Engineer to provide deep technical support for our automotive car access products and solutions (UWB/BLE) to leading China Tier‑1 and OEM customers. You will play a key role in developing localized solutions, delivering technical training, and creating documentation to ensure successful customer project execution.
What You'll Do
- Provide deep technical support for NXP automotive car access products and solutions (UWB/BLE) to leading China Tier‑1 and OEM customers, covering system‑level design‑in enablement.
- Drive root‑cause analysis for critical issues to ensure robust customer implementation and successful project execution.
- Collect technical requirements from customer and market, and lead development of suitable localized product and solution.
- Contribute to internal discussions on new product definition and solution evolution to enhance product competitiveness.
- Deliver or support technical trainings for customer R&D teams and interact closely with customer engineers.
- Create high‑quality technical documents such as application notes, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
- Train distributor FAEs (DFAEs/DAEs) and customer engineers, assess their technical readiness, and enable partners to independently resolve common issues.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Up to 5 years of experience in embedded system development from professional work, internships, or technical projects.
- Strong technical fundamentals, good problem‑solving skills, and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
- Solid understanding of ARM Cortex‑M‑based embedded systems, including interrupt handling, memory architecture, low‑power modes, and fault mechanisms.
- Hands‑on experience or strong interest in embedded software development, debugging, and root‑cause analysis.
- Familiarity with embedded communication and system interfaces such as SPI, UART, CAN, and LIN.
- Practical experience working with embedded operating systems including Free‑RTOS, ThreadX, and/or Linux in real project environments.
- Working knowledge of wireless and connectivity technologies, especially Bluetooth/BLE and/or UWB.
- Ability to read and apply technical specifications in system design and issue analysis.
- Good English communication skills in speaking and writing, with ability to understand, create, and review technical documentation.
- High level of motivation and passion for individual expertise improvement, with strong self‑learning capability.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience related to automotive, wireless connectivity, or embedded platforms.
- Experience in wireless technologies such as UWB, Bluetooth/BLE, or NFC.
- Knowledge of UWB or BLE is a strong plus.
- Hands‑on experience using BLE protocol analyzers (e.g. Frontline, Ellisys), UWB test equipment and standard lab instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, CANOE).
- Experience and willing to adopt AI models or AI‑assisted tools to improve engineering productivity.
