Cognizant is looking for an Exadata Database Machine Administrator to design and optimize infrastructure solutions aligned with business goals. In this role, you'll apply your expertise in Linux Exadata DMA and Oracle to deliver innovative solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work model.
What You'll Do
- Install, configure, and maintain Exadata Database Machine hardware and software.
- Optimize SQL, manage storage, and tune system performance.
- Apply quarterly Full Stack Download Patch (FSDP) and Infrastructure patches.
- Monitor cell servers, compute nodes, and InfiniBand/RoCE switches to ensure high availability.
- Configure, manage, and optimize ZFS storage pools, projects, and shares.
- Implement snapshots, replication, and data integrity checks for ZFS.
- Monitor and tune ZFS storage throughput and latency.
- Manage point-in-time snapshots and replicate data to secondary sites for Disaster Recovery.
- Configure and maintain ZDLRA systems for continuous data protection.
- Perform rapid, validated recovery of databases.
- Onboard databases to ZDLRA, automating backup policies.
- Configure databases for real-time redo transport to ZDLRA.
- Secure, manage, and audit encryption keys, wallets, and credentials using Oracle Key Vault.
- Create and manage Oracle Key Vault user accounts and roles.
- Add, configure, and manage Oracle Key Vault endpoints.
- Configure Oracle Key Vault network, SNMP, SMTP, and FIPS mode.
- Set up, monitor, and manage Oracle Key Vault clusters.
- Back up, restore, patch, and start/stop Oracle Key Vault services.
- Configure hardware security modules (HSM).
- Implement role-based access, encryption, and compliance checks.
- Resolve critical incidents related to performance, storage, or availability.
- Automate tasks using shell scripting, Python, or Ansible.
- Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and disaster recovery plans.
- Install, configure, and patch Oracle Clusterware and ASM.
- Manage Cell Nodes and Grid Disks.
- Monitor I/O resource management (IORM).
- Configure InfiniBand or RoCE fabrics for ultra-low latency.
What We're Looking For
- Strong expertise in Linux with the ability to optimize and manage systems effectively.
- Extensive experience with Exadata DMA showcasing proficiency in database management and optimization.
- A proven track record of 8 or more years in infrastructure architecture with a dedicated focus on Linux, Oracle, and Exadata DMA.
- Excellent experience with ZDLRA and ZFS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on improving infrastructure efficiency.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
- A commitment to staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
