Twilio is looking for an Enterprise Architect to design and implement a unified, governed data architecture across our company. You will be accountable for transforming our data ecosystem, rationalizing disparate data lakes, and compelling teams to adopt centralized tooling.
What You'll Do
- Formulate the enterprise-wide data strategy to align with long-term business objectives.
- Design scalable data architectures that integrate heterogeneous data sources.
- Ensure all designs adhere strictly to enterprise security and compliance standards.
- Author policies governing global data access, retention, and sovereignty.
- Establish enforcement mechanisms and implement rigorous data governance frameworks.
- Define ownership, stewardship, and quality metrics for data in disparate lakes.
- Audit the portfolio of data tools, identify redundancies, and execute plans to decommission inferior software.
- Analyze existing data silos and engineer integration patterns to expose trapped data.
- Articulate the cost of data sprawl and the value of a unified data model to business leaders.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 12 years in enterprise technology or data.
- At least 5 years dedicated to data architecture.
- TOGAF certification.
- Demonstrated thought leadership in convincing executives to invest in formal data lifecycle and governance for Data Warehousing.
- Deep, hands-on expertise building architecture and engineering practices around a leading Data Warehouse.
- Proven mastery rationalizing complex estates with disparate relational and non-relational database systems.
- Proven track record operationalizing data governance in complex environments.
- Demonstrated ability to influence C-level executives and steer large organizations without direct HR authority.
- History of successfully merging multi-national or multi-line-of-business data estates during M&A or major reorganizations.
Nice to Have
- Recent, hands-on technical experience with any of: Snowflake, AWS, Informatica, dbt, Datahub, Presto, or Datahub/Acryl.
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field.

- Compensation varies by location: Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C.: $171,120 - $213,900; New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside San Francisco Bay area): $181,200 - $226,500; San Francisco Bay area, California: $201,280 - $251,600.
