About the Role

Oversee the development and execution of data science engineering initiatives, manage team performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-impact technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of data science engineers in designing and implementing scalable systems
  • Guide technical direction for data science projects across multiple client engagements
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with product and consulting teams to define project requirements
  • Mentor team members in professional growth and technical skill development
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions on schedule
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies relevant to data science workflows
  • Maintain alignment between engineering output and business objectives
  • Drive best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment processes
  • Manage resource allocation and workload distribution across projects
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
  • Support recruitment efforts for engineering talent
  • Promote knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration
  • Oversee documentation standards for engineering outputs
  • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges with team input
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and project planning sessions
  • Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Represent engineering in client-facing discussions when needed
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term technical strategy

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in computer science, data science, or related field
  • Experience managing teams in remote or hybrid work models
  • Background in consulting or client services organizations
  • Exposure to MLOps or machine learning lifecycle management
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Spark or Kafka
  • Knowledge of statistical modeling or machine learning techniques
  • Prior work in regulated industries such as healthcare or finance
  • Contributions to open-source data science projects
  • Experience with data visualization tools or platforms
  • Familiarity with ethical AI principles and responsible innovation
