General Motors LLC is hiring an Engineering Group Manager (EGM) - Electrical Tooling and Equipment to join our Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV organization. You will lead a team of hardware manufacturing experts to support steady-state operations and launch hardware across all GM production facilities, ensuring defect-free electrical content in every vehicle.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of manufacturing experts, engineers, and business development professionals.
- Drive adoption of emerging manufacturing technologies and advanced electrical solutions for vehicle testing.
- Provide strategic leadership, fostering collaboration across Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, Product Development, and IT.
- Champion employee development through training, mentorship, and career growth initiatives.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-quality inputs.
- Own and execute objectives within Global Electrical Level 1 and Level 2 Business Plan Deployment (BPD).
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using plant feedback and data-driven insights.
- Deliver training on new technologies, processes, and best practices to manufacturing personnel.
- Participate in talent acquisition efforts, including selection of new team members.
- Set clear team objectives and foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive work environment.
- Communicate project progress and innovations effectively to senior leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 5–10+ years of manufacturing experience with a strong emphasis on vehicle and electrical test systems, quality processes, repair strategies, and plant operations.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated success in leading and motivating teams, setting clear goals, and delivering results through innovative thinking.
Nice to Have
- Experience in product launch, supplier management, and strategic execution.
- Proven ability to thrive in cross-functional, global teams and navigate ambiguity in high-pressure environments.
- Master’s degree or higher in a technical or management-related discipline.
