V.Group is hiring an Engineer (Oficial de Máquinas) to support the engine room operations on a chemical tanker. In this critical role, you will ensure the safe maintenance and operation of all machinery and equipment, directly contributing to vessel safety and performance.
What You'll Do
- Maintain the engine room and act as Engine Watch Officer under the Unattended Machinery Space (UMS) regime when required.
- Maintain all equipment in the Engine Room, with special attention to main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines, and boilers.
- Adopt and adhere to safe working practices on board.
- Perform electrical maintenance, including completing all PMS items in ShipSure, in the absence of an Electrical Officer.
- Act as a substitute or train under the supervision of the Subchefe de Máquinas whenever there is an opportunity.
- Perform any other tasks and duties as instructed by the Chefe de Máquinas and/or Subchefe de Máquinas.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Subchefe de Máquinas and receive operational instructions from the Chefe de Máquinas, working as part of the vessel's engineering team.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located on the vessel.
