Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and People Business Partners on a wide range of employee relations topics, including investigations, performance management, policy interpretation, workplace conflicts, and organizational change.
- Own and manage complex ER cases across the Americas, ensuring issues are handled with consistency, care, and alignment to local laws and internal policies.
- Educate and support line managers on how to be effective people leaders—helping them build confidence and capability in addressing performance, conduct, and culture issues early and proactively.
- Partner closely with Legal to manage employment risk and support litigation or pre-litigation matters.
- Monitor evolving employment legislation across U.S., Canada, and LATAM markets and ensure our policies and practices are updated accordingly.
- Analyze ER case trends and develop actionable insights that improve the employee experience and inform organizational decisions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of scalable ER programs, tools, and training across the region.
- Champion a positive, inclusive employee experience by modeling fairness, consistency, and alignment with Dataiku’s values.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in employee relations, HR, or employment law—ideally within a fast-moving, global organization.
- Proven ability to navigate complex ER issues across the Americas, with a strong understanding of U.S. employment law.
- Experience advising and coaching business leaders on sensitive people matters.
- Strong judgment and a pragmatic, business-minded approach to ER challenges.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- High integrity and discretion when handling confidential matters.
Nice to Have
- Experience launching or helping build a new ER function or COE.
- Experience delivering training and enablement for managers on ER-related topics.
- Background working in a global, matrixed tech or SaaS organization.
- HR or employment law certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR).
- Experience in LATAM is a plus.
