Wabtec Corporation is hiring an Electronics Engineering Specialist to join our Bach-Simpson monitoring team. Reporting to the Products Line Manager, you will be responsible for the design, commissioning, and technical support of Transit and Locomotive electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems of varying size and complexity.
What You'll Do
- Work with other engineers to bring new products from prototype to production.
- Perform all aspects of technical work, including reviewing specifications, circuit design and testing, and product testing.
- Read and interpret PCB, electrical, and mechanical schematics/drawings.
- Design and verify electrical circuits, schematics, PCB, hardware fixtures, and test jigs.
- Create accurate BOMs, Test Instructions, Assembly and Wiring Instructions.
- Create detailed design documentation and estimate time to complete tasks.
- Review drawings, BOMs, test procedures, and customer specifications for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards via testing and certification processes.
- Perform embedded C programming and testing.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in circuit design.
- Proficient in the use of electronic design software (Altium Designer and OrCAD).
- Solid understanding of circuit theory, PCB design principles, and electronic components.
- Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, firmware integration, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Programming experience in C and experience with real-time or memory-constrained operating systems.
- Knowledge of testing and certification standards relevant to electronic equipment.
- Excellent analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent fault-finding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be willing to travel to customer sites as required (10% or less) and able to travel to the US for business trips.

- Compensation: $57,300 - $65,000 (or $65,900 - $87,300)
