Responsibilities
- Advance an open-source Rust platform that hosts Deno isolates, separates user and system execution contexts, and enforces per-request CPU and memory constraints.
- Build and maintain monitoring systems, alerts, and OpenTelemetry integration to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks affecting latency and service stability.
- Collaborate with Deno and other open-source projects, contributing code upstream and advocating for user-driven feature requests.
- Take part in an on-call schedule to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production reliability of edge functions.
- Enhance platform capabilities including scheduled execution, background processing, WebSocket streaming, temporary file storage, and custom routing logic.
- Tighten integration between edge functions and core platform components such as authentication, database, object storage, and real-time messaging.
- Extend the platform to support new workloads like AI inference, MCP servers, static site hosting, and URL shortening services.
- Improve local development workflows via CLI tools, including debugging support, logging, and consistent behavior between development and production environments.
