The Director, Platform Engineering at Neko Health will lead the end-to-end creation and deployment of the company's internal AI developer platform, enabling a transformation toward agentic, AI-assisted engineering workflows. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on building systems that improve developer speed, reliability, and autonomy across the engineering organization.
What You'll Do
- Own the architecture, build, and rollout of Neko's internal AI developer platform
- Shape how engineers design, ship, and operate software through agentic, AI-assisted workflows
- Set long-term direction for AI agents, tooling, and underlying systems
- Ensure platform components are adopted organically across engineering teams based on value
- Deliver a clear architectural direction for the platform within the first 6 months
- Ship initial platform components and achieve adoption by early engineering teams within 6 months
- Demonstrate measurable improvements in developer speed, reliability, and autonomy within 6 months
- Drive genuine organic adoption across engineering, not through mandate but through demonstrated value
- Enable a substantive shift toward agentic, engineer-led development workflows by month 12
- Scale the platform beyond pilot groups to multiple engineering teams by month 12
- Establish clear ownership models for agents, tooling, and supporting systems by month 12
- Define and advance the long-term architecture of the platform toward maturity by month 12
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience building and shipping an internal developer platform, hands-on, not advisory
- A strong track record leading agentic or AI-assisted development work that engineers actually use day-to-day
- Real backend engineering depth with production systems
- Recent experience with Java or C# strongly preferred
- Experience rolling out platform tooling to 20-30+ developers with meaningful adoption
- Expertise with workflow engines such as AWS Step Functions, Azure Durable Functions, Temporal, Conductor or Dagster
- The ability to drive change through influence and credibility, not positional authority
- 10-15+ years of engineering experience with substantial platform ownership

- Full-stack exposure, though backend depth is the priority
- Background in product-led SaaS or organisations with strong internal developer tooling culture
