Wealthsimple is looking for a Director of Design, Portfolios to lead the vision and execution of design for our investment platform. You'll play a central role in defining the user experience that helps our clients grow their wealth.
What You'll Do
- Set the long-term design strategy and vision for Wealthsimple's portfolio management products.
- Lead and mentor a team of product designers, fostering their growth and development.
- Oversee end-to-end design execution, from concept to launch, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Research partners to define and deliver on business goals.
- Champion user-centered design principles across the organization.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of product design experience, with a significant portion focused on complex financial products or platforms.
- 5+ years of direct people management experience, with a proven track record of leading and developing senior designers.
- A portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing for mobile and web, with examples of shipped, high-impact products.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design methods, including research, prototyping, and usability testing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and influence stakeholders.
