Allstate is hiring a Direct Sales Agent Specialist to drive profitable growth and achieve business goals by selling insurance products directly to consumers. This position is responsible for new business sales, building a book of business, and marketing products both inside and outside the office.
What You'll Do
- Drive new business sales and build rapport and trust by understanding customers’ needs.
- Build and retain your book of business within the market or retail location.
- Attract and generate new customers and cross-sell existing customers.
- Sell products including Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance.
- Sell to walk-in customers and market products outside the office via marketing calls and in-person visits.
- Create community relationships to promote continued growth.
- Assist customers in the office.
- Successfully close sales of insurance and ancillary products.
- Meet and exceed sales goals through new product sales, cross-sell, and retention of customers.
- Leverage community contacts to continually build a sales pipeline.
- Maintain an active physical presence in the community to build multiple centers of influence and referral sources.
- Initiate outbound calling to an established target customer base for product offerings.
- Monitor key competitors in the local market area and make suggestions to improve the company’s position.
- Work with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage marketing and sales processes to achieve production and growth goals.
- Deliver optimal results within appropriate metrics, including quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Understand, promote, and remain current on company underwriting guidelines, announcements, and memos related to changes in policies and procedures.
- Receive customer payments, issue receipts, and verify reports of receipts for cash drawers.
What We're Looking For
- 0 – 2 years of experience.
- Must attain required P&C licensure within 90 days of joining the company if not already licensed.
Nice to Have
- P&C licensing.
- Minimum 6 months of P&C sales experience (for licensed compensation tier).

- Compensation: Base hourly rate of $17.00 per hour for unlicensed candidates; $20.00 per hour for licensed candidates with minimum 6 months P&C sales experience.
