Hovione is looking for a Digital Data Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders across functions as a data business partner, building analytics solutions and designing statistical and machine learning models. What You'll Do
- Partner with stakeholders across functions as a data business partner, identifying high impact use cases and areas for improvement.
- Build, standardize, and maintain reporting and self service analytics as part of data centralization.
- Preprocess and engineer features from structured and unstructured data, ensuring quality, lineage, and reliability.
- Mine and analyze data from multiple sources to optimize strategies, operations, and portfolio decisions.
- Design, develop, and deploy statistical and machine learning models to predict outcomes and detect patterns.
- Establish A/B and multivariate testing frameworks; validate, monitor, and iterate on model performance.
- Implement models and data products with cross functional teams; set up monitoring, alerting, and lifecycle management.
- Communicate insights clearly through compelling visualizations and narratives tailored to technical and business audiences.
- Deliver projects safely, on time, and cost effectively while upholding IT governance, GMP/HSE, and compliance standards.
- Proactively propose process optimizations, make timely data driven decisions, and demonstrate resilience through change.
What We're Looking For
- University degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a similar scientific field.
- 4–6 years’ experience in data science, including manipulating datasets and building statistical/ML models.
- Fluency in English is a requirement.
- Strong autonomy to lead analytic solutions from design to deployment.
- Great communication skills.
- Great prioritization and work methodology.
- Knowledge of GMP, data governance, and safe‑by‑design practices; team player with resilience and a long‑term mindset.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Hands‑on experience with ML techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks, ensemble methods).
- Strong grounding in statistics (regression, distributions, hypothesis testing) and experimental design (A/B testing).
- Expertise in data visualization and reporting—especially Power BI—and solid data modeling for BI; proficiency with MS Office.
Nice to Have
- Portuguese proficiency strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with R and object‑oriented scripting is a plus.
