About the Role
The digital court reporter captures and maintains high-quality audio recordings during depositions, hearings, and other legal events. The role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and adherence to recording protocols.
Responsibilities
- Record legal proceedings using digital audio equipment
- Ensure audio clarity and completeness throughout sessions
- Verify recording functionality before each proceeding
- Label and organize files with accurate metadata
- Upload recordings securely to designated platforms
- Monitor audio levels during live sessions
- Troubleshoot technical issues during recordings
- Maintain secure storage of sensitive recordings
- Follow chain-of-custody procedures
- Communicate with legal teams about recording status
- Confirm session schedules in advance
- Arrive prepared with backup equipment
- Adhere to ethical standards in legal reporting
- Preserve recording integrity from start to finish
- Support timely transcription workflows
Nice to Have
- Certification in court reporting or audio technology
- Experience with eScribers or similar platforms
- Background in legal transcription support
- Familiarity with deposition management systems
- Prior work in remote legal environments
