Mactores is hiring a DevOps Engineer (Intern)

Responsibilities

• Work the operations tickets and project task queue with the DevOps team.
• Communicate with the rest of Engineering to roll out broad changes for customers.
• Automate operational and server provisioning workflows using AWS CloudFormation templates.
• Share responsibility for deploying releases and other operations maintenance.
• Improve operations infrastructure — Jenkins clusters, Bitbucket, monitoring tools (Consul), and metrics tools such as Graphite and Grafana.
• Provide operational support for the rest of the Engineering team.
• Help migrate our remaining dedicated hardware infrastructure to the cloud retiring hardware, not just racking new services.

Requirements

• Conceptual understanding of version control systems (git), including branching and merging strategies.
• Conceptual understanding of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Conceptual understanding of Snowflake.
• Conceptual understanding of or exposure to software build tools (Maven, Gradle) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins); must have supported Java-based applications in a production environment.
• Conceptual understanding of Linux environments and scripting languages — bash, Python, Groovy.

We commit to fixed delivery dates, so operational discipline isn't optional here. As an intern you'll learn that discipline where it's most visible: in the release pipeline, the monitoring stack, and the automation that keeps both honest.

The Path to Joining the Mactores Team

At Mactores, our recruitment process is structured around three distinct stages: Pre-Employment Assessment: A series of evaluations of your technical proficiency and suitability for the role.
