About the Role

The role involves managing design activities for port and marine terminal developments, leading multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring alignment with client requirements and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of design plans for port facilities
• Coordinate engineering teams across disciplines including civil, structural, and maritime
• Ensure designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
• Manage project timelines and deliverables for design phases
• Review technical submissions and construction documentation
• Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and constraints
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes
• Integrate sustainability principles into design solutions
• Mentor junior design and engineering staff
• Prepare and present design reports to stakeholders
• Manage changes to design scope and specifications
• Work with contractors during construction to resolve design issues
• Ensure consistency with master plans and long-term port strategies
• Apply risk assessment methods to design decisions
• Support procurement by providing technical input for contractor selection
• Lead design reviews and coordination meetings
• Use BIM and CAD tools to support design development
• Ensure constructability and maintainability are considered in designs
• Coordinate with environmental and permitting specialists
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of port industry trends and technologies
