About the Role
This position offers an immersive experience in democracy and governance, where the fellow will contribute to legislative initiatives, support policy research, and engage in efforts to strengthen civic participation and constitutional rights.
Responsibilities
- Support legislative research and policy analysis on democratic reform initiatives
- Assist in drafting memos, briefings, and communications materials
- Engage with stakeholders to gather input on civic engagement strategies
- Monitor legislative developments related to constitutional governance
- Help organize public events and forums on democratic values
- Contribute to advocacy campaigns promoting voting rights and electoral integrity
- Collaborate with team members on strategic planning for policy goals
- Conduct legal and historical research to support legislative proposals
- Track developments in federal and state democracy-related legislation
- Participate in coalition-building efforts with advocacy organizations
- Prepare summaries of hearings, testimonies, and public comments
- Support outreach to community groups and civil society organizations
- Assist in developing educational materials on democratic institutions
- Help coordinate interoffice communications on priority initiatives
- Contribute to grant and funding proposal research
- Attend meetings and briefings with policymakers and experts
- Draft social media content to promote civic education efforts
- Maintain databases of policy contacts and stakeholder networks
- Evaluate program effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative methods
- Support travel logistics for public engagement events
- Provide administrative support for ongoing legislative projects
- Research best practices in democratic governance from other nations
- Help plan and execute town hall meetings and public consultations
- Assist in monitoring media coverage of democracy-related issues
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning for policy impact
Compensation
Unpaid stipend provided; limited travel and housing support may be available

Program Duration
This is a full-time summer fellowship running from June through August
