Wichita Tribal Enterprises (WTE) is hiring a Database Administrator to provide essential, advanced support for the Indian Health Service's primary Electronic Health Record, the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS). In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of database environments that support critical 24/7 healthcare operations, ensuring their integrity, performance, and security.

What You'll Do

Provide Tier 3 database administration support for RPMS and associated healthcare applications.
Install, configure, maintain, and support enterprise database platforms across Windows, Linux, and AIX environments.
Ensure continuous availability, integrity, and confidentiality of databases supporting Electronic Health Record operations.
Perform database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
Manage database backup and recovery operations, including routine validation and restoration testing.
Support disaster recovery and high-availability solutions per approved continuity plans.
Implement and maintain database security controls in compliance with HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, and related regulations.
Support vulnerability remediation, security patching, and compliance reporting.
Participate in audits, assessments, and data calls related to database security.
Support Configuration Change Management and release management processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex database incidents and performance issues, performing root cause analysis.
Develop and maintain comprehensive database documentation including SOPs and architecture diagrams.
Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, application teams, and cybersecurity staff.
Provide guidance and technical support to Tier 1 and Tier 2 personnel.
Participate in on-call rotations to support 24x7 healthcare operations and respond to critical incidents.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance. Must be a US citizen.
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in database administration.
CompTIA Security+ Certification (Required).
CompTIA Server+ Certification (Required).
CompTIA Cloud+ Certification (Required).

Nice to Have

Associate degree with significant relevant experience may be acceptable.
Database-specific certifications such as InterSystems Cache/IRIS/HealthShare, Oracle, SQL Server, or equivalent.
ITIL Foundation certification.
Additional security-related certifications (e.g., CISSP).
MUMPS or VistA system-related certification.
