BAE Systems Intelligence & Security seeks a Data Scientist II to join our team. In this role, you will support the Integrated Operations function within the Combat Mission Systems organization, delivering data-driven insights to leadership for critical ground vehicle, amphibious vehicle, and weapon system programs. What You'll Do
- Serve as a Senior Data Scientist supporting ground vehicle, amphibious vehicle, and weapon system programs.
- Develop, transform, and model data to improve decision-making and organizational insights.
- Create visual dashboards of key metrics and indicators, as well as ad-hoc and periodic reports.
- Provide statistical analysis and input to management and leadership teams.
- Lead and support cross-functional teams to provide Data Assurance data to other functions.
- Perform data extraction and manipulation from various data sets.
- Create workflows and models for end-users using system tools.
- Conduct statistical analysis to ensure correct descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive forecasting.
- Manage the analytics request process by capturing requirements.
- Participate in Data Citizen Group meetings and represent the company in joint meetings with government customers as required.
- Develop and maintain data-driven solutions using Python, including dashboards.
- Provide continued support for multivariate demands from customers, including ad-hoc requests and task prioritization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data science or analytics, with a focus on Python development and maintenance.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing data-driven solutions, including dashboards.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Programming proficiency in Python, with experience in data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
- Database management experience with relational or graph databases, including design, querying, and integration.
- Experience with business intelligence, analytics, or reporting tools such as SQL and Excel.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies.
- Excellent customer communication skills and ability to manage multiple requests and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with adaptability and flexibility.
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL, Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft Power Query, Python, R, or similar languages.
- Proficiency with technical writing, a dynamic skill set, and high organizational capability.
- Ability to work independently with sensitive information, maintain professionalism, and communicate effectively with diverse groups.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation up to $122,655.
