About the Role

Scentre Group is hiring a Data Scientist to join our Data & Insights team. This role is for a curious professional who wants to translate big questions into impactful insights, turning complex data into models and stories that guide smarter decisions across the business. Your work will directly contribute to shaping better outcomes for our customers and community.

What You'll Do

  • Explore large, curated datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Design and build models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Conduct hypothesis testing, optimisations, and deep dives to support decision-making across teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work within cloud environments using Python and/or R, SQL, and industry-standard libraries and visualisation tools.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, and coding.
  • Ability to translate business problems into analytical frameworks with measurable outcomes.
  • Understanding of how data drives business performance and customer outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively across disciplines, aligning data solutions with broader team goals.
  • Comfort with experimenting with new tools, methods, and ways of thinking to solve problems.

  • Languages & Tools: Python, R, SQL
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, GCP
  • Visualisation: Tableau, PowerBI

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Data & Insights team, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners.
