DriveWhip is looking for a Mid-level or Senior Data Scientist to join our team. You will focus on Personalization & Customer Analytics, working closely with commercial teams to build practical ML models, translate insights into business impact, and support data-driven personalization initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking with hands-on modeling skills and cares about both the business 'why' and the technical 'how'.
What You'll Do
- Partner with product, marketing, and operations teams to turn business needs into analytical solutions.
- Analyze large-scale customer and product data to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities.
- Develop and refine customer segmentation models to support targeted marketing and personalization.
- Build and improve recommendation systems (collaborative, content-based, or hybrid).
- Select, train, and evaluate machine-learning models with a strong focus on business outcomes.
- Define and track performance metrics for personalization and recommendation use cases.
- Support data quality, enrichment, and modeling during migration to PIM and CDP platforms.
- Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable way.
What We're Looking For
- Mid-level: 2+ years as a Data Scientist.
- Senior: 5+ years designing and delivering data-driven solutions.
- Hands-on experience with customer analytics, personalization, segmentation, or recommender systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with common ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Solid foundation in exploratory data analysis.
- Solid foundation in feature engineering.
- Solid foundation in model evaluation & interpretation.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into analytical approaches.
- Comfortable presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong English communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, or data-intensive industries.
- Exposure to LLMs or AI techniques for practical business use cases (e.g., data enrichment, tagging, content analysis).
