In the lightning-fast world of real-time bidding, our Programmatic Data Science team operates at warp speed. We develop breakthrough algorithms, creating systems that outperform the big players. Our approach? Deep research into user behavior, publisher and advertiser goals, all while ensuring an amazing user experience. We're a nimble team that transforms theory into game-changing solutions, leveraging cutting-edge tech and collaborating closely with product and business teams.
What You Will Do
- Grow and manage a data science team: hire top talent, design team routines, establish guidelines (code style, documentation, best practices).
- Translate business goals into data solutions that make WAVE a formidable competitor in AdTech.
- Stay hands-on by personally tackling data science tasks (minimum 50% of work time).
- Mentor and level up data scientists in analysis, programming, communication, and strategic planning.
- Own critical data science documentation (experiments, implementation details).
- Sync with WAVE's product team and adjoe's Cloud Infrastructure team on priorities, implementation, tools, and best practices.
- Contribute to company strategy. Develop long-term roadmaps and quarterly OKRs.
Who You Are
- Tech degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, or equivalent – or 5 years professional data science experience.
- 2+ years leading teams (hiring, conducting 1-1s, crafting career development plans).
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, Scala, Julia, or similar data science languages.
- Analytical powerhouse who sees multiple solutions to every problem.
- Experienced in navigating massive datasets from AWS Athena, Kafka, Spark, Flink, S3, MySQL.
- Capable of diving deep into mathematical concepts and explaining complex topics simply.
- Exceptional cross-team communicator.
- Bonus: Experience building Data Science tech stacks (Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Flink) and selecting optimal technologies with MLOps and Data Engineers.
