Lead the evolution of enterprise data platforms in the cloud. As a Data Platforms Manager, you will oversee a team of database engineers responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, highly available database solutions on AWS. Your work will center on migrating on-premises systems to cloud-native architectures, improving reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with architecture, application, and business teams to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud database environments aligned with enterprise standards.
- Design and implement resilient database solutions using AWS services such as Aurora, RDS, DMS, and Schema Conversion Tool, ensuring performance and security at scale.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules to manage infrastructure as code, enabling consistent and repeatable deployments.
- Build and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Ansible, and Python for seamless database delivery.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and cost metrics; identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Strengthen security posture through IAM policies, encryption (including KMS), network controls, and regular compliance assessments.
- Enhance observability with centralized logging, monitoring dashboards, alerting rules, and capacity forecasting.
- Lead incident response during critical outages and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system resilience.
- Coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks, to support operational clarity.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions that support business objectives.
