Cigna Healthcare is seeking a Data Engineer/Lead Analyst to develop and optimize the data products that drive insights and innovation. In this remote role, you will be a key contributor, building scalable pipelines and enabling data-driven decisions with a path to grow into a leadership position.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and Python within the Databricks ecosystem.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
- Own the development and deployment of ETL processes supporting enterprise data products and reporting.
- Contribute to data model and architecture design in Snowflake and other cloud platforms.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions.
- Monitor and optimize pipeline performance for reliability and scalability across large datasets.
- Support data governance by implementing best practices in version control (Git) and metadata management.
- Research and propose new tools or approaches to improve data engineering workflows.
- Take initiative in identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency, and innovation.
What We're Looking For
- Solid understanding of data engineering principles and cloud-based data platforms.
- Hands-on production experience with Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on technical challenges.
- Experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Interest in healthcare data and a desire to make a meaningful impact through data-driven solutions.
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a related technical role.
- Demonstrated understanding of data architecture and modeling concepts.
- Must have access to a reliable internet connection (minimum 10Mbps download / 5Mbps upload) if working remotely.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience in healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries.

- Compensation: $80,400 - $134,000 per year.
