Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Data Engineer Consultant to serve as a strategic technical partner for our clients. In this remote role, you will design and implement scalable data solutions—including data models, ETL pipelines, and cloud data warehouses—to help clients unlock the full value of their data.

What You'll Do

Guide clients in optimizing their data environments for efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop system engineering, integrations, and architectures tailored to client needs.
Implement and advise on data warehouse solutions, ETL pipelines, and BI reporting tools.
Design and validate data models aligned with client KPIs and data transformations.
Teach technical data modeling concepts to developers, architects, business users, and IT professionals.
Support, maintain, and document client data environments.
Operate within project management frameworks to meet objectives and understand impact.
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to promote thought leadership and client engagement.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering).
3 to 4 years of experience in data analytics or data engineering roles.
Strong passion for problem-solving and learning new technical information quickly.
Experience with developer tools/workflows (git/github, SSH, command line).
Familiarity with project management software (Basecamp, JIRA, ASANA).
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud (BigQuery, Redshift).
Proficiency with BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Microsoft Power BI.
Experience with data warehousing and the Snowflake platform.
Ability to optimize database and query performance.
Skilled in scripting languages (Python, R, Perl, bash) and advanced SQL.

Nice to Have

Prior consulting/services experience preferred.
Experience working with Media & Entertainment or Telecom sectors preferred.
