MUBI is looking for a Data Engineer to build and evolve our core data infrastructure. You'll develop robust data pipelines, design efficient data models, and ensure reliable data ingestion and transformation workflows, supporting analytics and machine learning across the company.
What You'll Do
- Support and enhance the core data platform powering analytics and machine learning at MUBI.
- Develop and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines that move and transform large volumes of structured and semi-structured data.
- Design and improve data models for data warehouse and analytics use cases.
- Monitor and ensure data quality and reliability across the stack.
- Contribute to the evolution of our data engineering practices, tools, and automation ensuring security and governance best practices are implemented.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and scientists to ensure data is accessible, documented, and trustworthy.
What We're Looking For
- 2–3 years of professional experience in a data engineering or similar role.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python).
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT patterns, and modern data tools.
- A solid understanding of version control (e.g., Git), testing, and code review practices.
- A desire to build clean, maintainable systems and a strong sense of data responsibility.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a cloud-based data environment such as Snowflake, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow) and transformation frameworks like dbt.
- Exposure to real-time data streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka.
- Basic understanding of containerisation and deployment technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Interest in MLOps and a desire to learn how to operationalise and maintain machine learning models in production.
