Nearmap is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain the reliable, scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that are foundational to our analytics, AI, and operational systems. You will be instrumental in ensuring the timely, accurate, and secure flow of data, empowering teams across the company to generate trusted insights.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and secure delivery of data from multiple sources into the warehouse.
- Partner with Analytics Engineers, Application Engineering, and other stakeholders to provide a robust, cost-efficient, and well-governed data platform.
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency with Snowflake for data warehouse management.
- Strong skills in SQL & Python for data pipeline development.
- Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Services including Glue, Firehose, S3, API Gateway, ECS, ASG, Kinesis, and Snowpipe.
- Familiarity with setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with data pipeline tools such as dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, Hightouch, Airflow, or Dagster.
Nice to Have
- Experience with dbt for modern data transformation.
- Knowledge of data lake file formats (Parquet, Avro, Iceberg) and partitioning strategies.
- Experience with Kubernetes & Docker for container orchestration.
- Familiarity with other cloud providers.
- Understanding of platform observability and monitoring tools.
