At NBCUniversal, we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our global Operations & Technology organization. In this role, you will build the next generation of data pipelines and applications, transforming large, disparate datasets into flexible and scalable analytics solutions.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with business leaders, engineers, and product managers to understand data needs.
- Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of sources using cloud-native data engineering principles.
- Design, build, and scale data pipelines across a variety of source systems and streams, distributed environments, and downstream applications.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery and infrastructure.
- Implement the appropriate design patterns while optimizing performance, cost, security, scale, and end user experience.
- Participate and lead in development sprints, demos, and retrospectives, as well as release and deployment activities.
- Build and manage relationships with supporting IT teams to effectively deliver work products to production.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in a data engineering or related role.
- Direct experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT development principles, or data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles.
- Experience with cloud-based data warehouse platforms (AWS RedShift, GCP BigQuery, Snowflake or equivalent).
- Experience in building data pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Demonstrable experience in Airflow or similar orchestration engines.
- Experience in applying CI/CD principles and processes to data engineering solutions.
- General understanding of cloud data engineering design patterns and use cases.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, informatics, information systems, mathematics, computer engineering, or a related quantitative field.
