Kyndryl is looking for a Data Architect to lead the definition and construction of a target data architecture for a significant migration from Oracle Exadata to Google Cloud (BigQuery). What You'll Do
- Define the target data architecture for migrating Oracle Exadata to Google Cloud (BigQuery).
- Design scalable, resilient, and optimized cloud architectures within GCP environments.
- Establish standards for data modeling, integration, quality, and governance.
- Design migration, modernization, and transformation strategies for data platforms.
- Define ETL/ELT frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, and exploitation.
- Design data architectures oriented toward advanced analytics and integration with Vertex AI.
- Optimize performance, costs, and security in BigQuery environments.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data governance policies.
- Act as a technical reference for engineering teams and business stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Degree or master's in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Engineering, or Data Architecture.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform Data services.
- Design of integration architectures and large-scale ETL/ELT processes.
- Knowledge of modern architecture patterns (Data Lake, Lakehouse, Modern Data Warehouse).
- Experience in data warehousing and data lake design patterns.
- Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale data warehouses, ensuring data quality at scale on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Hands-on experience with data services like BigQuery, Composer, Dataform, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, etc.
- Advanced proficiency in Google BigQuery (data modeling, partitioning, clustering, cost optimization).
Nice to Have
- Solid experience with architecture on Oracle Exadata (performance, high availability, optimization).
- Experience with data architectures for AI/ML and integration with Vertex AI.
- Experience in other data environments, e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, or AWS.
- Certification on cloud platforms: Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or similar.
