Lead an intensive, full-time cybersecurity training cycle designed to equip students with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed for success in the field. Deliver a structured curriculum through highly interactive, lab-focused sessions, limiting lecture time to no more than 1.5 hours per six-hour instructional day. Emphasize experiential learning by guiding students through hands-on exercises that reinforce core concepts in networking, operating systems, security protocols, and threat mitigation.
What You'll Do
- Teach a 15-week technical program using a standardized curriculum, ensuring consistent delivery and measurable outcomes
- Facilitate daily lab activities that build real-world proficiency in cybersecurity tools and environments
- Use a learning management platform to assign work, administer assessments, and monitor student progress in real time
- Enter and update student performance data regularly in Salesforce.com
- Collaborate with a teaching assistant to support learner engagement and classroom management
- Provide ongoing feedback, conduct individual check-ins, and deliver performance evaluations
- Identify academic or behavioral challenges early and partner with support staff to implement solutions
- Work closely with career coaches to align academic progress with job readiness goals
- Enforce attendance, professional conduct, and program policies to maintain a structured learning environment
- Support curriculum improvement by providing input on content relevance, lab effectiveness, and platform usability
- Ensure at least 90% of students pass all required certification exams
Requirements
- CompTIA Security+ certification, or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire
- At least two years of professional experience in cybersecurity or a related technical role
- Proven experience teaching adults, particularly in virtual or blended learning environments
- Deep technical expertise in TCP/IP, networking protocols, Windows and Linux systems, firewalls, IDS/IPS, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems, including command-line interface navigation
- Experience managing server environments, virtualization platforms, and security infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to teach interactively and adapt instruction based on learner needs
- Commitment to meeting performance benchmarks for certification pass rates and student outcomes
- Flexibility to adjust to evolving curriculum and instructional methods
- Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds, as required by lab setup and equipment handling
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA CySA+, Network+, CISSP, CEH, or CCNA certification
- Experience with SANS or other industry-recognized cybersecurity training programs
