Role Overview
As a Senior Security Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise security systems. Your work will span both on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring comprehensive protection against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for managing security operations, enhancing monitoring capabilities, and maintaining compliance with internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily security operations, including malware defense, network monitoring, behavioral analytics, data protection, and incident forensics.
- Assess and improve security infrastructure by implementing upgrades and mitigations for firewalls, intrusion detection systems, email and web security, and endpoint protection platforms.
- Refine security alerting and detection mechanisms to identify suspicious or malicious activity with greater accuracy.
- Ensure secure configuration and governance of cloud platforms across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and Office 365 environments.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies, procedures, and architectural guidelines.
- Manage relationships with third-party security providers, including SOC, EDR, penetration testing, and network defense services, ensuring service alignment with organizational needs.
- Lead incident analysis and response, providing expert-level support to contain and remediate threats efficiently.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and networking teams to implement security controls and ensure timely patching of vulnerabilities.
- Stay current with emerging threats and advise internal teams on risk mitigation strategies.
- Promote a security-conscious culture through clear communication and cross-functional engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years in cybersecurity roles with demonstrated experience in security engineering or analysis.
- Strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, routing, and LAN/WAN architectures.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, load balancers, IDS/IPS, web proxies, and Virtual Private Networks.
- Deep knowledge of security frameworks, cryptography, authentication methods, and application security principles.
- Proven experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and penetration testing platforms.
- Ability to design and deploy secure systems across hybrid environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Track record of working independently and within teams to deliver security outcomes.
