Mizuho Americas Services LLC is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer to lead critical cyber security initiatives. In this role, you will focus on enhancing our existing security tools and driving key projects to completion.

What You'll Do

• Lead cyber security initiatives and drive projects/solutions to completion.
• Provide additional oversight of the security engineering function.
• Call out and highlight gaps/deficiencies and identify compensating controls.
• Report on projects and BAU items to the Director of Security.
• Guide/lead other team members and serve as a backup as necessary.
• Be part of on-call rotation with the rest of the security engineering team.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience leading security engineering or cyber defense teams at scale, ideally in complex, distributed environments.
• Deep understanding of modern security operations, detection engineering, and automation frameworks.
• Strong technical background with experience in systems engineering, software development, or network architecture.
• Expertise with tools and platforms: Splunk, XSOAR, CrowdStrike, ExtraHop/Reveal(x), Netskope, Tenable, JIRA, GitLab, Ansible.
• Scripting proficiency in Python and/or PowerShell.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive large-scale security initiatives.
• Understanding of the SDLC and project management concepts.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows OSes required.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Required to be part of on-call rotation.

• Salary Range: $111,000 - $180,000
