Grand Wailea Resort is seeking a Counselor to join our Keiki Club team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and directing children through a variety of supervised recreational activities, ensuring a safe, clean, and exceptionally fun environment.
What You'll Do
- Teach, lead, participate and interact with children ages 5–12 years old. Occasionally work with 13-17 years old during busy seasons.
- Plan and create stimulating and educational activities for children.
- Prepare and set-up activities, including swim and poolside craft workshops.
- Greet and register guests for camp sessions and specialty classes, providing prompt and courteous service.
- Check guests in and out of the facility and process payments for fees and concession sales.
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility and snack shop stand per DOH requirements.
- Assist with menu schedules, serving meals and snacks, and making shave ice, popcorn, and cotton candy.
- Act as a first responder for water rescues and medical emergencies, rendering First Aid and CPR.
- Ensure safety of all guests and team members, reporting accidents and concerns.
- Instruct private lessons and classes such as hula, lei making, and painting.
- Answer phones, take reservations, handle photocopying, filing, and inventory.
- Transfer trash and dirty linen to designated areas.
- Assist supervisor and manager when needed and advise on inventory and operations.
- Attend all mandatory meetings and report suspicious activities to security.
- Provide general public assistance and guidance for guests.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma.
- At least 9 months of experience working with children ages 5-12 years old.
