The Consultant Specialist plays a key role within the Emerging Technology team, driving the design and operation of robust, scalable, and highly available systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with a proactive approach to reliability engineering, automation, and incident management. The specialist collaborates across engineering teams to implement best practices in cloud infrastructure, continuous delivery, and monitoring, ensuring systems are resilient and performant. With a focus on innovation and operational excellence, the role contributes to long-term platform stability while enabling rapid, safe deployment of new technologies. The position requires a strong foundation in scripting, distributed systems, and cloud platforms, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and sustain systems that are both scalable and dependable
- Monitor performance metrics and resolve technical issues to maintain continuous service availability
- Build and deploy automated solutions for monitoring and software delivery processes
- Work closely with engineering teams to enhance system performance and reliability
- Document system configurations, operational procedures, and process workflows
- Engage in on-call duties and respond to production incidents as needed
- Lead post-incident reviews to determine root causes and apply corrective actions
- Promote and integrate reliability best practices across development and operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or comparable operational role
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud
- Proficient in writing scripts and programs using languages like Python, Go, or Bash
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience using monitoring and log management tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and communication protocols
- Strong analytical abilities and a self-driven approach to problem resolution
