Capgemini is looking for a Connectivity & Networks Engineer to join our core domain team. In this role, you will be assigned to various projects across network, cloud, security, and telecom based on business needs and your individual strengths, focusing on broad, foundational cross-domain skills.
What You'll Do
- Design, construct, operate, and provide troubleshooting support for Connectivity & Networks projects.
- Analyze incidents, performance issues, and system behavior using logs and monitoring tools.
- Work across network, cloud, security, and telecom domains as required.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, and global teams.
What We're Looking For
- Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and core IP network concepts.
- Basic knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Understanding of enterprise or service provider network design and operation.
- Experience troubleshooting using logs, monitoring data, and basic packet analysis.
- Operational experience with incident response, change management, and handover processes.
- Structured problem-solving and root cause analysis thinking.
- Basic ability to handle OS like Linux and familiarity with CLI-based environments.
- Understanding of system concepts like processes, services, and logs.
- Basic understanding of cloud (IaaS/PaaS), virtualization, and related network concepts like VPC/VNet, IAM, and load balancing.
- Understanding of hybrid environments combining on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Understanding of basic security concepts like access control, encryption, firewalls, and secure design best practices.
- Adherence to security policies and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of wired/wireless communication principles and networks supporting large-scale services.
- Ability to create and understand technical documents and manuals.
- Clear communication with customers and cross-functional teams.
- A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and different domains.
- Business-level Japanese or English proficiency is desirable, varying by project.
Nice to Have
- Practical experience in network, cybersecurity, cloud, or telecom fields.
- Automation and scripting skills with tools like Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Experience with various vendor technologies such as Cisco, AWS, Azure, GCP, or security products.
- Relevant certifications like CCNA/CCNP, cloud-related, or security certifications.
