Capital One is hiring a Communication Designer

Capital One is looking for a Communication Designer to join our HR Communications team. We’re passionate about crafting and delivering memorable, meaningful communications and experiences that build our brand with humanity and drive business results. You’ll combine your craft expertise with an understanding of our customers and the business to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems.

What You'll Do

• Leverage deep expertise in communication strategy and design, using skills across UX and visual design, messaging and multi-channel strategy.
• Elevate the quality of communications practice through collaboration with cross-functional partners, utilizing appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks and design systems.
• Create artifacts such as journey maps, high-fidelity designs and prototypes, creative concepts, storyboards, graphic elements, illustrations, animations, videos, and finished multi-channel materials.
• Champion the customer through the design process, leveraging critical-thinking skills that factor in data, research insights, scalability, tech constraints and feedback.
• Understand and apply business and customer strategy, facilitate design process activities with team and partners, and negotiate customer needs and business goals.
• Build an understanding of tech and data capabilities and emerging technologies to inform work, identify new opportunities and help navigate technical limitations.
• Foster relationships with partners, expand your network, listen to diverse points of view and collaborate to influence outcomes, break down silos and gain alignment.
• Present work to audiences across levels and job functions using a human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data and research insights.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience with UI and UX design
• At least 3 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma

Nice to Have

• At least 4 years of experience in a UI and UX design role
• At least 4 years of experience with motion graphics or video editing
• At least 4 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma
• At least 4 years of experience collaborating with cross functional business partners
• At least 4 years of experience working with an established design system

• Compensation: McLean, VA: $131,300 - $149,800 for Pr. Associate, Design; Richmond, VA: $119,400 - $136,200 for Pr. Associate, Design

This role works in a local-city mode in McLean, VA and Richmond, VA.
